THE NEW ENTERPRISE...

Laura Aschero was my mother. The daughter of a doctor and later a doctor's wife, from a young age she showed a determined, brilliant and enterprising character. After being a full-time wife and mother, in 1975, at the age of 54, she decided, with her father's support, to restore the family land to vineyards in order to sell the grapes to local winegrowers and to create employment for her husband, who was approaching retirement. But she was not a woman to stand at the window so, urged on by friends in the industry, she decided to register with the Chamber of Commerce and tried to vinify some of her grapes.

...AND A GOOD START

The result: the first wine was not special, but the structure proved to be remarkable right from the start. Thanks to the advice of the oenologist Gianpaolo Ramò, who still oversees our winery today, we have come to create our wines of today: fragrant, balanced and delicate.

SALES NETWORK

My mother's great merit was the marketing. Outspoken, straightforward and authoritative, she immediately created an important sales network, relying on highly regarded representatives, who still successfully promote our wines today.

“BLOOD IS NOT WATER”

As Laura used to say, ”blood is not water”: in fact, I immediately became passionate about the family business and started looking after it. During the day I worked in the bank, in the evening in the cellar, and while I dedicated myself to the care of the wine I planned its expansion and modernisation. Today I can say with satisfaction that I have created, in an old warehouse located under the square in Pontedassio, a technologically modern winery equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, and that I have passed on the family passion to my daughter Bianca, who works with me. She, who has inherited her grandmother's verve and frown, represents the third generation of winemakers
